Be aware, The Spice Cabinet has closed down. The website is still active, you can place an order, they will take your money, but no food arrives. Such a shame as the food was amazing when they were open.

This is the BEST Indian food restaurant I have EVER been to when you combine all the AMAZING aspects of the Spice Cabinet.
We have always ordered takeaways from here, which sometimes turned up a bit later than stated but we loved the food so much we continued to order, just ordered earlier than we needed.

We decided to eat at the actual restaurant last week rather than order takeaway. It was AMAZING! 😍😍 We had our American friends visit and they were blown away. They wanted to return even though they had a very hectic schedule for their vacation.
This is a family business. If you want to support family businesses after you visit, please leave a review.
The setting is a beautiful rural location, a hidden gem. There's a small garden if you want to have a meal outside. The inside has beautiful querky décor which we particularly loved.
The service is perfect. Attentive, engaging, friendly and always there for your every need without being overbearing.
The food is cooked to your liking. They will tailor to your requests whenever possible. (All our requests were met, and there were 10 of us on our last visit). The owner came out and personally confirmed what we wanted. On the day we visited he actually cooked the food!! It was Fantastic!
Please give it a go if you are looking for a fabulous memorable experience which is different to the mundane Indian restaurant. Invite all your friends! They will be super impressed. I can't recommend this lovely place enough.

Food was amazing as usual, chef Tariq is just the best. If you haven’t eaten here before I strongly recommend you do. My tikka roll was yummy just yummy.

Food is amazing here, a really great selection of chefs specials as well as the usual offerings. Highly recommend going for the chefs specials! Really enjoyed our mains, sides and starters and were kindly also offered a complimentary mint ice cream dessert which was also fabulous. The service is impeccable and very friendly. A really nice property as well so a nice environment to eat in. Cannot recommend the Spice Cabinet enough and will definitely be going back despite living half an hour away!

Being punjabi and use to eating Indian food this food was terrible.
Food tastes of garlic and overloaded with Chilli no subtle spice flavours, very oily, couldn't really enjoy food due to being so chilly.
Seekh kebab didn't taste of lamb not sure what it was.
OK if you like vindaloo and just like sweating.
Think I will stick to my local lounge India.

Best dining experience ever! New Management is absolutely amazing, they take care of you as you were their own. Probably the best Indian food I have ever tried. Recommend the chicken curry, succulent, flavoursome and mouthwatering. You’d be a fool to miss out on such culinary experience. I travel the UK to test out many restaurants, but this one in particular has a unique ambiance about it which makes it special.

We decided to eat in today with the kids. What an amazing experience! The staff were so welcoming and the food was so tasty. One of the kids decided to order off menu to our surprise was accommodated... if you have a chicken nugget eating 6 year old rest assured spice cabinet can cater for you! Such a great experience! Thank you to the staff! They even allowed our 6 year old to role play as a waiter and take orders!

The New management are so chill and welcoming. I thank the stars I drove past it (that’s how I found it). Went in and immediately felt welcomed. Place is clean smells nice and overall dining atmosphere is truly unique in the most special way. The building has an old school feel but is truly a gem.
I hear there are external issues with the previous management but the new management are a breath of fresh air. Food, better than Sona restaurant. Great pricing. Easily accessible parking spaces. Staff are very nice and friendly. The tandoori chicken, don’t know how they make it but it is majestically tasty.

Have used Spice Cabinet for deliveries in the past and the food has been pretty good. This time we ordered using our existing account and were phoned by the restaurant to say that they were busy and our food would be delayed 20 minutes. Later still, and getting hungry, we get a call from the delivery driver to ask why we aren't answering our door. It transpired that he was 10 miles away at a different address that had been substituted for ours in their app for some reason. Obviously it took some time for him to drive our food back to our house, by which time it was an hour overdue. To add insult to injury the driver then wanted to charge us more for sending him to the wrong address and wouldn't accept it was a fault with their system. Clearly I wasn't going to pay extra for lukewarm food and we parted acrimoniously. There were some dishes that were absent, replaced by others that we hadn't ordered. All in all a shambles that I'm not in a hurry to repeat.

When we come over to visit our son, we like a curry night in with a film, so haven't sat in to eat here (yet!) but the restaurant always looks beautiful. We've had 2 absolutely amazing take-aways from here. Really good food and the menu is wide ranging with new dishes to try, away from the usuals. In fairness, it's not the cheapest, but you absolutely do get what you pay for. The staff have been welcoming and helpful...and I know a take-away from here is going to become a visit tradition! Well done Spice Cabinet.... really first class food.

We have just had a absolutely fantastic meal at Spice Cabinet. The food was delish, hot and abundant. Staff were very welcoming, smiley and attentive. Cute cottage style restaurant in a peaceful location. The decor being modern, extremely clean with ambient background music and lighting. We are looking forward to returning there very soon.

We’ve ordered from The Spice Cabinet more times then I wish to admit since moving to Buntingford. It has always been delicious, well priced and the service is really great. They don’t even charge a delivery fee to deliver.
We mainly order a take out but the restaurant is lovely and in a nice location, with limited parking + on road unrestricted parking.
They cater to diary free in which you can hardly taste the difference.
Best Indians food around is The Spice Cabinet 100%.

Loved it! Beautiful location, welcoming staff, lovely decor and a superb meal. Menu was interesting and for me the best surprise was that the menu featured salads! Never seen that before in an Indian restaurant! I had a traditional Bangladeshi salad with tangy dressing and salmon tikka on the side. It was just great. My husband was equally impressed with his meal and we shall be returning very soon.

Amazing food! We had the chicken tikka masala and chicken balti. Best indian we've had, beats anything from Saffron Walden, Royston and Bishops Stortford. To also add its a lovely quaint location. The staff are really pleasant too. Will definitely order again.
